Paint Contaminated Materials
Paint contaminated waste disposal for workshops, decorators and production sites.

Paint Contaminated Materials Disposal Service
It is not just liquid paint that needs managing. Wipes, rags, masking paper, disposable overalls, gloves and spill absorbents all pick up paint and solvent as part of normal work, and they often need handling as hazardous waste.
We collect these materials in sealed bags or lidded drums, depending on volume. Spray booth filters are handled on their own page, so let us know if you have those as well.
Who We Collect From
- Body shops and spray finishers
- Painting and decorating contractors
- Manufacturing paint lines
- Print and signage workshops
- Spill clean-ups on site
Before We Collect
- Store solvent-soaked rags in a closed metal bin to reduce fire risk.
- Keep contaminated materials apart from general waste.
- Tell us if any items are wet with solvent or liquid paint.
Why Paint Contaminated Materials Must Be Disposed Of Professionally
Rags, rollers, brushes, masking and filters soaked in paint can carry the same hazards as the paint itself.
Accepted subject to assessment. Booth filters are handled on their own page.
- 01Solvent soaked rags and wipes can be flammable.
- 02Some oily materials can heat up when bunched together.
- 03Contamination can make otherwise ordinary items hazardous waste.
- 04Spray booth filters can hold concentrated paint residues.
- 05Bagged and contained material is safer to store and move.
- 06Classification depends on the coatings involved.

Recycling
Can You Recycle Paint Contaminated Materials?
Usually not. Rags, wipes, PPE and absorbents that are contaminated with paint or solvents normally go for energy recovery or specialist treatment rather than recycling. We confirm the route based on what they are contaminated with.
